Разработчики Ethereum отказались внедрять защиту от ASIC без всестороннего исследования этого вопроса. На еженедельной пятничной встрече было принято решение провести еще один аудит кода ProgPoW, чтобы доказать эффективность защиты, занижающей возможности специально собранных чипов до производительности GPU.
Эксперты ранее предсказывали, что разработчики Ethereum примут именно такое решение, падение курса криптовалют доказало преданность крупных компаний майнингу.

Ethereum developers have refused to implement protection against ASIC without a comprehensive study of this issue. At the weekly Friday meeting, it was decided to conduct another audit of the ProgPoW code to prove the effectiveness of the protection, which underestimates the capabilities of specially assembled chips to the performance of the GPU.
Experts had previously predicted that the developers of Ethereum would take just such a decision, the fall in the rate of cryptocurrency proved the loyalty of large companies to mining.
